A WOMAN has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a collision between a scooter and a car in County Durham.
The 50-year-old woman was riding along Burn Lane, Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, when she collided with a Vauxhall Vectra at the junction of Carers Way.
She suffered multiple injuries, breaking both legs, and also suffering fractures to her upper arm, left hand, ribs and pelvis.
The accident happened at about 6.10pm on Sunday evening.
The woman was treated at the scene by a doctor before being airlifted to James Cook University Hospital. Her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
