DARLO dog, Darlington Football Club's mascot, greeted shoppers today in an effort to boost sales for the forthcoming All Stars game.
With little over a week to go before the team of All Stars go head to head with the Quakers 1999-2000 play-off team, the club mascot prowled the streets of Darlington to sell tickets.
The fundraising match takes place on Sunday, May 3 at The Northern Echo Darlington Arena.
Players announced for the match include Paul Gascoigne, Peter Beardsley, Gareth Southgate, Kevin Ball, Colin Cooper and Steve Agnew.
Tickets, costing £10 for adults and £5 for children, are available from the club and The Northern Echo.
Darlo Dog said tickets had been selling steadily all day.
He added: "It's a wonderful day and people are showing a lot of interest in the big match. Ill be there and Im looking forward to it."
He was joined in ticket selling duties by Alistair McTaggart, Cassandra Bowtell and six-year-old Alicia McTaggart.
Darlo Dog will be back in Darlington town centre next Saturday, at thebestof.co.uk/darlington stall on Blackwellgate.
