HARTLEPOOL drugs unit uncovered a large scale cannabis farm worth up to £150,000 when they raided an Industrial Unit in the town.
Officers swooped on the premises in Casebourne Road on the Longhill Industrial Estate shortly before 10am today.
Inside was a large cannabis farm of around 300 plants, complete with sophisticated lighting and watering systems.
Each plant is thought to be worth around £500, giving the yield of the farm a potential worth of around £150,000.
A 45-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis and are currently being questioned by police.
Sergeant John Hemsworth of Hartlepool Drugs Unit said: "This was an intelligence-led operation. Information received from the public on drugs activity in the town is extremely important to us in our fight against drugs and the misery they cause."
