A CRICKET club has been hit for six after thieves stole a bowling machine.
Burglars stole the unusual item from Durham City Cricket Club after breaking into the scoreboard at the ground in Green Lane, sometime between 8.30pm on Tuesday and 9.45am the following morning.
They escaped with a cream Bola professional cricket bowling machine and power pack, worth £2,500, along with 50 plastic practice balls worth a total of £300.
PC Lisa Garbutt, who is appealing for information said it was an unusual thing to take and asked sports clubs across the region to contact police if they were offered a similar machine for sale.
