THE daughter of a Darlington woman murdered almost two decades ago has died in similar circumstances.
Karen Leonard, 40, was found stabbed and strangled in a Middlesbrough flat earlier this month.
Her death bears similarities to the murder of her mother Darlington woman Carol Storey, who was stabbed and strangled by her lover.
In 1990 she was murdered in her home in Eston Moor Crescent, by David Hauxwell.
Judge Angus Stroyan jailed Hauxwell for life after hearing he throttled Carol before stabbing her twice through the neck in a fit of anger "to finish her off".
