A MAN has been arrested after a woman was stabbed to death in Northallerton.
Police were called to a house in Vicars Croft at about 2.10pm yesterday afternoon, after reports that a woman in her late thirties had been stabbed.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: "The woman was taken by ambulance to the Friarage Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
"A 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. "The address has been cordoned off by the police while detectives and forensic experts examine the scene.
"Police inquiries are ongoing."
