A COUPLE have had their daughter Christened in a dress steeped in more than 100 years of history.
Aimee Dixon wore her family’s prized 112-year-old Christening gown for the event.
The nine-week-old is the 16th baby to be Christened in the dress.
Aimee was following in the footsteps of her sister Caitlin, four, mother Claire, 31, grandfather Steven and greatgrandmother Nana Jean, 76.
The gown was bought in Stockton in 1897 for Aimee’s g reat-g reat-g randmother, Lily Pinder.
Aimee’s mother Claire, who lives with husband Paul in Fairfield, Stockton, said: “It was really important to us that Aimee had a traditional Christening, and wearing the dress helped to make the day even more special.
“It was an emotional day for Nana Jean, who was in tears, but she was really chuffed to see Aimee wearing our families gown.”
The ceremony took place in St Paul’s Church, Stockton.
