There are times when the cultural differences between the North and the South couldn't be starker.
On the way down to London on the 7am train from Darlington, I was reading a story in The Northern Echo about Sinners bar in Newcastle, which has been offering free drinks to women who bare their breasts at staff.
On the way back on the 2pm from King's Cross, I've been reading a story in the London Evening Standard about a pub called The Marksman in Shoreditch.
Landlady Dawn Kolpin has abandoned cash in favour of a bartering system for drinks.
Her "wishlist" includes a proper tuning service for the pub's 100-year-old piano, a chocolate brown laundry basket, pruning shears, and a set of drill bits.
How utterly disgusting!
