SUMMER FAIR: Staff and children at Aysgarth School are preparing to welcome members of the local community to their summer fair, at the school, in Newton-le-Willows, near Bedale, on Bank Holiday Monday, May 4. As well as all the stalls that might be expected at a summer fair, there will also be a bungee run, bouncy castle and dog competitions. There will also be story-telling for children, free face painting and swimming in the school’s indoor pool. Liz Foster, the school’s development manager, said: "We are delighted to open our doors for the first time to those in the local area with families for a summer get-together. Everyone is welcome".
ACTION GROUP: The North Hambleton Windfarm Action Group - NHWAG - is holding an information day for residents in the area to illustrate the impact of the proposed nine 125m wind turbines construction at Ingram Grange Farm, Appleton Wiske. Local residents are invited to attend. The event will be held at Appleton Wiske village hall, between 2pm and 9pm, on Thursday, April 30. Refreshments will be served.
ADVICE SESSIONS: To assist people from outlying areas of Hambleton who may struggle to travel to Northallerton for general advice, Hambleton Citizens Advice Bureau is piloting a new ‘Drop-In’ service in Easingwold. This will be on offer fortnightly. They are also offering, by appointment, a new service in Stokesley to provide, specifically, debt advice in that area once a month. CHURCH SERVICES: Morning worship at Northallerton United Reformed Church will be held at 10am, on Sunday, and will be led by Mr Harry Bunting. The evening service, at 6pm, will take the form of a Bible Study led by the Reverend Malcolm Smith.
SHOE SALE: A shoe sale will be held in Bedale Hall, on Friday and Saturday. The sale will be open from 9am to 5pm on both days.
PLAY GROUP: Bedale Under 5s Play Group is holding a jumble sale, in Chantry Hall, Bedale, on Saturday, between 11am and 1pm.
