RAIDERS targeted three pubs on three consecutive nights near Crook last week.
Police are appealing for information after the Green Tree in Howden-le-Wear was broken into during the early hours of Friday morning, and £1,000 worth of goods, including cash and tools, were stolen.
The Plantation pub in Howden-le-Wear was targeted overnight between April 15 and 16, and £100 cash was taken.
Thieves also struck at the Burn Inn, Willington, overnight on April 14 and 15, taking £750 in cash.
A Durham Constabulary spokesman said: "The offenders are forcing entry through front or rear doors, and removing cash from fruit machines and charity boxes.
"It is generally just cash that has been stolen."
Two people were arrested in relation to the incidents on Friday morning, and police are continuing their enquiries.
