A REVAMPED police station has been opened in Thirsk to offer a better service to locals and visitors alike.
Deputy Chief Constable Adam Briggs, and the chairman of the county’s police authority, Jane Kenyon, officially launched the facility.
The building in Thirsk Market Place is not new but is now able to provide improved accessibility for residents and visitors within the area.
Officers who work in Thirsk and the surrounding areas will be based from and work directly out of the station.
Mr Briggs said: "This new and improved local police station in the Market Place is fantastic for the communities in Thirsk and surrounding areas.
"It provides a great opportunity for the Safer Neighbourhood Team to further engage with members of the public.
"We also hope that with dedicated officers working out of the premises, this will further increase public re-assurance."
The Safer Neighbourhood Team in the station will be led by Inspector Tim Osborne.
