AN autistic schoolboy is growing in confidence through drawing dinosaurs.
Joshua Murray suffers from Asperger’s syndrome and severe attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, meaning he often struggles to concentrate for any length of time.
But the eight-year-old happily spends hours drawing dinosaurs, which his mother, Kelly Matthews, says he has been obsessed with since a very young age.
She said: “He draws the dinosaurs totally from his imagination in great detail, without copying anything. It just flows from his pen.
“Everybody’s astounded by his drawings.”
Joshua often sketches for hours each morning and longer each night.
Ms Matthews, 30, says it is helping him to grow in confidence.
Joshua lives with his mother, her partner, Adrian Matthews, and sister Olivia, five, in South Stanley, County Durham, and attends Greenland Community Infant School.
