OVER 50s charity Age Concern have published an information sheet on telephones.
It contains advice on topics such as choosing providers, call barring and how to stop marketing calls.
Copies are available from Eleanor Lister on 01388-720064 or at monthly outreach sessions in Weardale and Teesdale.
They are: first Tuesday of every month, Four Clocks Centre, Bishop Auckland, 10am to 12noon and Auckland Park Hospital 1 to 2.30pm; second Tuesday, Butterknowle Village Hall 11am to 12noon and Willington Resource Centre 2 to 4pm; third Wednesday, Witham Hall, Barnard Castle, 9.30 to 11.30am; fourth Wednesday, Randolph Centre, Evenwood 10.30am to 12 noon; second Thursday, UTASS, Middleton in Teesdale, 10am to 12 noon.
