Another defeat in the Headline Game...
The story was about Saltburn Pier being named Britain's best pier.
Our headline was "Peerless". Sums it up.
TFM radio presenter Graham Mack "The Knife" came up with "Pier we go, pier we go, pier we go" which was rubbish.
News reader Amy McConnell opted for "Shore winner" which wasn't bad for her.
And I have to say I quite liked producer Matt Bailey's effort. I reckon Matt's the brains behind the outfit and he came up with "Pier-fect".
I actually misheard to start with and thought he said "Pier sex" which I assumed was some kind of windswept fantasy.
Anyway, they got the point for a 3-1 win on the week.
As they say on the show, "Better luck next week, Paper Boy".
