A RESPECT initiative to build community ties on a Middlesbrough estate has been a flying success.
Cleveland Police and Middlesbrough Council have joined forces to improve relations with youths in Hemlington.
A falconry display was the main attraction at today's event.
PC Brian Hughff said: "We have had a really good turn out for this event, which is a reward for all the hard work that the youngsters have done.
"The respect project is aimed at year six pupils to get them to understand the community. They have spent time baking cookies and gardening with the pensioners in the area and the pensioners have been down playing on the Nintendo Wiis with the children.
"It has been a really successful scheme."
