A GROUP of Teesside artists are showcasing their latest works at a new exhibition at the Dorman Museum in Middlesbrough.
The seven artists who make up Cluster, have created pieces under the title “thresholds” drawing inspiration from the museum’s permanent exhibits.
Their varied creations are made up of painting, sculpture, ceramics and glass.
Ken Sedman, the museum’s senior curator said: “The Cluster Group have employed their diverse artistic approaches to a concept that can be both a barrier, and a gateway.
“They have created both a visual treat and a thought- provoking experience.”
Cluster comprises of Tish Bloom, Carolyn Corfield, Peter Heselton, Vera Hynes, Michael Kusz, Sally Wade and Karin Walland, who have exhibited around the region during the past two years.
Each of the artists will host a visit from local schools to discuss the concept of ˜Thresholds” in relation to their work.
Artist Carolyn Corfield said: “We’re proud to be hosted by as prestigious a venue as the Dorman and hope that our work will provoke reflection as well as provide pleasure.”
The exhibition is open to the public from April 21 until June 21. The Dorman Museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 9.30am until 5pm.
