A horse riding school for disabled people has been given £500 from Wear Valley rotarians.
The president of Crook Rotary Club, Geoff Brown, handed the cheque to Christine Barratt-Atkin, who owns the Wear Valley Riding School for Special People, at Three Lane Ends Farm, in Escomb, near Bishop Auckland earlier this month.
Ken Davison, of Crook Rotary Club said: “Rotary Club members and their wives attended the presentation. “They saw for themselves the impressive achievements of the staff and volunteers as well as the evident delight of the riders. “They inspected the projects some of the young people are doing here to gain qualifications and they saw the ongoing construction work to provide help for even more seriously disabled riders. “Rotarians left in no doubt that their donation had been made to a really good cause.”
