A HOSPICE is to repeat its annual sunflower cycle or saunter.
The 12th Sunflower Cycle or Saunter, which raises money for St Cuthbert’s Hospice, in Durham, will be held on Sunday, May 17.
The course follows a circular route along the former Lanchester Valley Railway, now the Lanchester Valley walk, beginning at Broompark picnic area.
There are two routes to choose from: an eight-mile option aimed at walkers and a 14-mile alternative suitable for cyclists.
Organisers are hoping to beat last year’s total of 100 people taking part.
Hospice fundraiser Caroline Broadfoot said: "From our supporters and volunteers to our patients, the local community is at the heart of the work we do, so we are pleased to have organised an event that will let local people discover the heritage and beauty of their local area.
"Whether you choose to walk or cycle, there are two different routes to choose from, so it is suitable for everyone and especially popular with families."
Registration for the Sunflower Cycle or Saunter costs £5 and is open now. For more information, call 0191-386-1170.
