TWO much-loved mums were singled out for special praise from their children in a competition at Bedale Leisure Centre.

As part of the Mother’s Day contest they were asked to explain why they loved their mums in less than 50 words to win her a prize.

Four-year-old Ben Hodgson said simply that his mum is his best friend while Annabel Simpson, 10, wrote a poem describing her mum as "lovely, sweet, fabulous and kind."

Ben from Northallerton and Annabel from Leeming won Freedom membership to the centre for a month for their mums - giving them access to swimming, the gym and fitness classes.
