A FREE face-painting event has been organised for children in north Durham.
It is taking place at the park area on Avondale Terrace in Chester-le-Street on between 10am and 12pm.
The family friendly event will provide children visiting the recreation area with a new look and offer the chance to take part in fun activities.
It has been arranged by the Chester-le-Street Central Resident’s Association, with support from Groundwork in Durham, as part of the celebration of the project that recently saw the recreation space transformed from the tired area it once was.
A Groundwork in Durham spokesman said: “We hope that the event will raise awareness of the recreation area that provides a valuable play space in the centre of the town.”
Parking for the event is available in town centre car parks.
