RESIDENTS in Hartlepool are being asked to give their views on a new conservation area study.
Hartlepool Borough Council has carried out a review of two of its eight conservation areas - Seaton Carew and Church Street.
Now it wants people to tell them whether they think they are a true reflection or not.
Sarah Scarr, the council’s landscape planning and conservation manager, said: "These appraisals will help shape how we protect and maintain the conservation areas, so it’s vital that they provide the most accurate possible picture.
"Before we finalise them, we’d like as many local people as possible to have a look at them and give us their views.
"For example, do people agree with us about what makes these areas so special? Is the character of the areas changing, and if so are the areas being enhanced or harmed?"
The new appraisals can be seen on the council’s website at www.hartlepool.gov.uk Alternatively, copies can be viewed at Seaton Carew Library, Hartlepool Art Gallery and Bryan Hanson House Comments should be sent by e-mail to landscape.planning@hartlepool.gov.uk or by letter to Landscape Planning and Conservation, Hartlepool Council, Bryan Hanson House, Hanson Square, Hartlepool, TS24 7BT by April 28.
