A MOTHER-OF-THREE collapsed and died in a pub while out with friends despite desperate efforts to resuscitate her.
A police spokesman said the 25-year-old was at the Coach and Horses pub in the Front Street, Consett, when she collapsed at 10.25pm last night.
The spokesman said: "An off-duty nurse who was in the pub gave her CPR. She was helped by doorstaff.
"Attempts were also made by North East Ambulance Service paramedics to revive her. But despite their efforts she did not regain consciousness.
"It is very tragic. She was a 25-year-old with three children having a social night out with her friends."
He added: "Inquiries with medical staff lead us to believe there are no suspicious circumstances."
The spokesman said the woman, who was local, would not be named until next of kin had been informed.
A file will be prepared for the coroner.
