A NEW series of courses, ranging from beginners’ guitar to belly dancing, is to get under way soon.

Durham County Council’s Clayport Library will host the courses run by New College, Durham starting with sign language on Monday, April 27.

Belly dancing and beginners’ guitar will both run from May 1, with computers and the internet and family history online starting on April 29.

The library will also host courses run by the county council’s Education in the Community service.

An introduction to web design and introduction to Mandarin Chinese start on April 28 with an introduction to desk top publishing on April 29, computing for beginners on Sunday, May 3, and family Spanish from May 2.

A separate holiday Spanish class will also run from April 30 for eight weeks as an informal friendly group where people can learn to order a meal, find directions and chat in Spanish.

Enrolment for the New College Durham courses is at Clayport Library between 6pm and 8pm on Thursday, April 23.
