RAILWAY children are sharing their love of trains with passengers on a tourism line.
Weardale Railway Junior Club has built a working model railway on display at Stanhope Station, County Durham.
The youngsters named their display Stanham – a combination of the town names Stanhope and Wolsingham, which Weardale Railway runs between.
Members of the club will operate the miniature line for passengers and visitors to the station’s waiting room from 10.30am to 4.30pm at weekends.
Daniel Brown, 12, said: “There are about 23 members and we have all done a little bit over the past eight weeks or so.
Parts were donated, like track from National Express, and we made the buildings ourselves.
“We and lots of the passengers like all things to do with trains and we will let children drive the trains round the model track when we can."
