THE team behind one of the region’s most popular eateries are publishing another book.

The Magpie Café in Whitby has featured in the Good Food Guide for three decades and is famous for the queues outside.

Now, following the success of their first cook book, owner Ian Robson and chef Paul Gildroy have produced a second.

Mr Robson said: "We were bowled over by the success of the first book. It had to go to three print runs, totalling 15,000 copies and sold out."

Such was the demand for the book that copies are now said to change hands for up to six times the original price. A digital edition is now available for £5 online at www.magpiecafe.co.uk

The new book has been illustrated by photographer Jodi Hinds and has a foreword by celebrity chef Brian Turner.

It documents the café’s history and features 160 pages of recipes.

The Second Magpie Café Cook Book will be formally launched on April 21.

Published by The Regional Magazine Company it will be available in paperback at £14.95 and hardback at £19.95 directly from the café or
