A WOMAN has died in a house fire.
The emergency services were alerted to the incident, in Grampian Road, Billingham, by a neighbour who noticed smoke coming from the house.
When police arrived at 11am this morning they found the body of the woman inside the house. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigations are continuing, but a police spokeswoman said the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
