THREE men who were arrested in connection with a burglary at a remote farm house in which an elderly man was tied up and beaten have been released on bail pending further inquiries.
The trio, a 38-year-old man from Selby, and two men aged 33 and 39 from South Yorkshire, were arrested following the late night raid at Boltby, near Thirsk, on February 21.
The victim, a 70-year-old man was severely beaten and left tied to a chair.
The robbers then made off with his car, also stealing shotguns, two rifles and money.
The pensioner was unable to free himself following the burglary and was not found until the next morning when the alarm was raised.
Police said today investigations were continuing.
