A SCHEME aimed at tidying up parts of Hartlepool has been praised Improvements, including the issuing of anti-social behaviour warnings, street lighting repairs and litter and fly-tippng clean-ups have been carried out in the Belle Vue area as part of Operation Cleansweep Eileen Thompson, secretary of the Belle Vue Residents Association, said: "You could look out of your window and see the workers because they all had high-visibility jackets on.
"I think it is a great initiative and shows what can be done when agencies across the town work together for a common goal."
Operation Cleansweep sees Hartlepool Council, Cleveland Police, Cleveland Fire Brigade, Housing Hartlepool and Hartlepool New Deal for Communities working together as the Safer Hartlepool Partnership.
Andrew Hughes, of the Safer Hartlepool Partnership, said: "The work done throughout the week in Belle Vue was really impressive and it has had a visible effect on the area."
