POLICE hunting thugs who tied up an elderly man in his home before they beat him and stole guns and money have arrested three men.

Three masked men raided the isolated farmhouse in Boltby, near Thirsk, North Yorkshire, and attacked a 70- year-old man. The incident, on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, took place at 11pm on Saturday, February 21.

The man was severely beaten and left tied to a chair.

The robbers made off in their victim’s car with two shotguns, two rifles and money.

The pensioner was unable to free himself and was not found until 9.35am the next day. He was treated in the Friarage Hospital, Northallerton.

Police have arrested a 38- year-old man from Selby, near York, and two men aged 33 and 39 from South Yorkshire.

They were in police custody last night.
