AN array of sponsorship packages which include photo opportunities with Paul Gascoigne and shirts signed by the football star have been revealed by Darlington FC for their fundraising friendly match.

Gascoigne is to make his return to the football pitch on May 3 in a money-spinning all-stars game organised by the Quakers, as exclusively revealed by The Northern Echo yesterday.

Gazza will lead a team of stars, including many from the North-East, against Darlington’s 1999-2000 play-off finalists at The Northern Echo Darlington Arena.

Other stars lined up for the match include Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate and former players Marco Gabbiadini, Kevin Ball and Bernie Slaven.

Club officials for the League Two side, which was placed in administration in February, have announced various packages to boost revenue at the game.

A sponsorship deal will be available for the two sides. Those who buy the packages will meet the players and have a tour of the ground, have photo opportunities and will be presented with shirts signed by Paul Gascoigne.

The package will also include the company name on the team shirts, programme and team sheets, an executive box for 10 guests and a carvery meal.

The cost of the all-star package will be £2,000, with the play-off team costing £1,500.

Five lucky fans will also take part in the game, with people bidding for a place in the teams.

Other sponsorship packages are available for the game including the chance to be director or chairman for the day.

Christine Balford, commercial director of Darlington Football Club, said: “We hope the crowd will be the biggest of the season. We will also ensure there are many other attractions to make it a great family day out and a superb hospitality opportunity for our business partners or any fan wanting a memorable match day experience.”

Tickets, costing £10 for adults and £5 for children, will be available from Monday. For all details contact 01325-387000.
