A LARGE hotel had to be evacuated after a fire broke out in a wall cavity.
Firefighters rushed to the Premier Inn, on Freeman's Place, in Durham, after an emergency call at about 10.45pm on Tuesday.
The hotel's ground floor was said to be heavily smoke logged.
The incident was dealt with by 11.30pm. No-one was reported to be injured.
The £6m, 103-bed hotel opened in February last year.
