A HOSPICE’S annual sponsored walk will have the X Factor this year, after entrants from the TV series signed up to tackle the route.
Girl group Bad Lashes, who appeared on the show last year, will take part in St Cuthbert’s Hospice’s third annual Midnight Walk.
Bad Lashes member Emily McNamee, 19, from Durham, said: “We know that St Cuthbert’s Hospice is a really good place.
“I knew someone who was terminally ill there and they got looked after really well – it has a very homely atmosphere. It does not feel like you’re in care.”
The girls will be in Durham Market Place, from 11am to 3pm on Friday, April 17, when people can get autographs and sign up for the walk, which follows a 10km route around Aykley Heads, Durham City, on the night of Saturday, June 20.
It is open to women of all ages and girls aged 12 and over accompanied by an adult. Registration costs £10, on 0191-386-1170.
