TWO people were airlifted to hospital last night with serious injuries after a three vehicle crash in County Durham.
Police, fire crews and ambulances were called to the A181 at Old Cassop, at 7.40pm.
It is believed that four people were injured altogether, with the two most seriously hurt being airlifted to hospital.
The severity of their injuries is not yet clear.
The road is still closed. Police are still at the scene investigating the cause of the crash.
