TICKETS have gone on sale for a behind-the-scenes tour of one of the region’s most iconic buildings.

Visitors will be able to explore parts of Durham Cathedral which are normally closed to the public at the charity event on April 22.

The tour has been organised to raise funds for St Cuthbert’s Hospice, in Durham City, which provides care for people with life limiting conditions, as well as giving support to their families.

The guided tour, which takes place at 6.20pm, explores the nooks and crannies of the cathedral and hear some of the stories about the building’s history.

The event will begin with a welcome, and those attending will be taken around the cathedral in small groups, before enjoying supper and a glass of wine in the Undercroft.

Caroline Broadfoot, of the Hospice’s Fundraising Team said: "The tours are always popular, and are a chance to see some of the hidden corners of Durham Cathedral, while supporting a local charity which provides care and support for people from across North Durham".

Tickets, priced £26 including supper, can be reserved via caroline@stcuthbertshospice.com or 0191-386 1170.
