A MUSIC rehearsal ended on a positive note when a youth orchestra was awarded a donation, The National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, made up of 160 of the country’s best young musicians, is currently rehearsing at Durham University ahead of a concert at The Sage, in Gateshead.
Yesterday, Kevin Jobson, chairman of the Northumbria branch of The Royal Society of St George, attended the rehearsal to hand over a £750 foundation.
The Royal Society of St George helps with financial sponsorship to young people, both individually or through youth organisations. The Northumbria branch was founded at Durham Castle at celebrates its first anniversary on April 23 - St George’s Day.
