AN internationally acclaimed film about global warming is to be shown in Northallerton this month.

Former-US Vice President Al Gore’s film ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ is being shown by the Northallerton and Villages Community Forum in a bid to raise awareness on climate change – and encourage the local community to take action.

Sally Anderson, chairwoman of the forum, said: "The film suggests that governments have a fundamental role to play, but argues that the communities in which we live must also take responsibility for the future of our planet.

"The forum is keen to work with other people committed to finding local solutions to the current climate and peak oil crisis."

The film will be screened at 7.30pm on Tuesday, April 21, at the Hambleton Forum.

Entry is free with refreshments available from 7pm.
