LADY luck knocked on the doors of three neighbours who scooped the postcode lottery jackpot.
Three properties on High Street in Willington, County Durham, shared £25,000 in the People’s Postcode Lottery - only weeks after two recipients joined the game.
Pensioner Kenneth Gale won £12,500, resident Michael Toward and his family won £8,344, whilst his neighbours Clare and John Deacon pocketed £4,167.
The win came the day before Mr Gale retired from his job as a taxi driver.
Meanwhile, civilian police worker Mr Toward plans to buy a bigger car to share with his partner and their six children.
Mother-of-three Mrs Deacon, said their windfall was a welcome boost to the family, who are mourning the loss of Mr Deacon’s stepfather John Close.
"I think he’s been up there wishing us luck," she added.
A further 186 players in the area who matched part of the winning postcode also received cash prizes.
