AN innovative production of a children’s classic has won a top award.
The National Railway Museum and York Theatre Royal jointly staged The Railway Children last year in a production that even included a locomotive in steam.
The show garnered good reviews and was seen by more than 24,000 people.
And at the York Tourism Awards the museum and theatre jointly took the award for Visitor Experience of the Year.
*Following the show’s success last summer, the museum and theatre will once again join forces this year to re-stage their spectacular production of E Nesbit’s much-loved tale.
It will once again feature a real steam train and will take place in a specially constructed theatre space at the NRM, from July 23 to September 5.
