A SURVEY of policing across Cleveland is being carried out with the views of 25,000 households being sought.

Based around crime and safety, the questionnaire will also help the force build up a picture of the communities residents live in.

The surveys will be dropping through people's letter boxes in the next couple of days.

Deputy Chief Constable of Cleveland Police Derek Bonnard said: "We would encourage everyone who receives a survey to fill it in and send it back to us.

"This is your opportunity to tell us about issues that concern you in your local area, and have your say on how we deliver a more citizen focused policing service in the future.

"Making people feel safe in their neighbourhoods is at the heart of our putting people first programme and we want to know how people think our service can be improved."

The survey is being carried out in conjunction with Cleveland Police Authority.
