A WOMAN who had £13,000 worth of personal belongings stolen from her car is appealing for help to get them back.

Suzanne Camidge was out walking in the Yorkshire Dales, having parked her vehicle in a remote car park near Leyburn.

She and her husband had stopped off on their way to the hotel they were staying in that weekend, and still had all their luggage in the car.

When they returned after an hour's walk, the back window of their Audi TT had been smashed and all their belongings were gone.

Mrs Camidge, 46, said: "I was absolutely hysterical, I kept throwing myself onto the floor and I couldn't stop crying.

"When you go for a weekend away you take your "best" everything, from clothes and jewellry to toiletries and make-up, and ours are now all gone.

"There are things lost that I can never replace - I'm absolutely heartbroken."

Mr and Mrs Camidge live in Darlington and run their own building company.

Among the items stolen are an antique Ebel Swiss watch belonging to Mr Camidge, worth £7,000, and some pearls he bought for his wife on their wedding day.

Other items include a £220 Vivienne Westwood top and a pair of Paul Smith boots.

Mrs Camidge said she would offer a cash reward for any information leading to the recovery of the Ebel watch.

"All my instincts were telling me to drive to the hotel first and get our luggage checked in," she said.

"I should have listened.

"I would urge everyone to think twice before leaving items in their car because in many cases, including ours, the loss will not be covered by insurance.

"We've had to learn the hard way."

The incident took place at about 12.30pm, at a car park in the Bolton Castle area on March 27.

Anyone with information, or who is offered any of the items for sale, can contact North Yorkshire police on 0845 60 60 247 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
