A MAN is recovering in hospital after suffering serious head injuries following a machete attack.
Police were called to the Park End area of Middlesbrough following reports of a fight in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Police investigating the violent incident are believed to be focusing on a house party in Penistone Road.
The injured man was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment to his head wound.
A police spokesman said the victim's injuries were not life threatening and confirmed that six males have been arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with the incident.
