PEACE campaigners in North Yorkshire are urging new American president Barack Obama to bring a ceasefire to Gaza.
Members of several groups like the Campaign for the Accountability of American Bases (CAAB) are to take part.
They will meet at Menwith Hill base, near Harrogate, North Yorkshire, to press their calls for peace.
The group will hand in a Letter of Hope to Mary O’Brien, the US base commander at Menwith Hill, for Mr Obama.
The handover will take place at 1pm on Tuesday, January 20, the day Mr Obama becomes president.
It will look for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza to stay in place for the future.
Lindis Percy of CAAB said: "The world in general and the people of Gaza in particular are crying out for a change from the use of violence as a means of settling conflicts to the meeting of both sides in a civilised dialogue and forum."
