FORMER England manager Steve McClaren gave the phrase going Dutch new meaning when he spoke in a rather unusual accent during an interview.
McClaren, from York, is currently the manager of Dutch club FC Twente, but seemed to forget his roots during an interview in English with Dutch television.
Instead of speaking in his usual Yorkshire accent, he seemed to mirror the interviewer by replying in English with a Dutch accent.
At one point he even seemed to forget he was a native English speaker.
Talking before FC Twente's 0-2 defeat to Arsenal, he told her: "We are not just, what you call, underdogs, but massive underdogs.
"Everything is there for a surprise."
His accent has certainly been a surprise, and McClaren, who was so unsuccessful as England manager he was given the boot after 15 months, is finally a hit - but only with YouTube viewers.
One described his interview as painfully embarrassing.
