Jurors have watched harrowing footage of a man collapse in the street moments after being stabbed during a violent confrontation with a former friend.

Adam Mackintosh was captured on CCTV carrying the knife before Lloyd Donkin challenged him by shouting ‘you going to stab me’ following a four-month-long feud between the pair.

The 28-year-old is accused of murdering his former friend minutes after Mr Donkin shouted abuse at him as he drove past him in the street.

Teesside Crown Court heard how Mackintosh was chased by a woman and hit with a golf club before fleeing the scene in Stockton on June 26 this year.

David Lamb KC, prosecuting, said the defendant’s movements were traced through CCTV footage driving to his mother’s house after he stopped on a bridge to dispose of the knife and the t-shirt he was wearing.

Jurors watched a compilation of footage after detectives pieced together what happened in the build-up and aftermath of the fatal stabbing.

During one clip, a male could be heard shouting ‘you f****** P***, wait till I get my hands on you’ as Mackintosh drove past Mr Donkin and some friends in his grey Audi A3.

Within minutes, Mackintosh was spotted in an argument with a group of people when they spotted him carrying a knife near Wrensfield Road, Stockton.

The jury then watched as Mr Donkin got out of a friend’s car and confronted the defendant before trying to kick the knife out of his hand.

CCTV images captured the moment that the 23-year-old suffered the fatal stab wound being inflicted.

Mr Donkin was then seen to chase Mackintosh while carrying a golf club before collapsing in the street.

Footage of Mackintosh’s arrest by heavily armed officers was also shown to the jury.

Earlier in the trial, Mr Lamb said: “Rachel Blakey shouted to warn Lloyd that the defendant had a knife and Lloyd shouted to the defendant “You going to stab me” and tried to kick the at the defendant’s hand to disarm him.

“He did not succeed and the knife remained in the defendant’s hand. The defendant then stabbed Lloyd Donkin with this knife in the left-hand side of his body.”

Mackintosh, of Coral Grove, Thornaby, pleaded not guilty to murder following his arrest.

The trial continues.
