A popular Stockton bar has launched four private karaoke rooms inspired by Hollywood's legendary Sunset Strip dive bars.
Black Market, on Prince Regent Street, first opened its doors in November 2023 and has since been described as “the place to be” on the town’s music scene.
Bosses behind the bar - which is an extension of the busy KU Bar nightclub and sister venue The Social Room - has transformed the upstairs space into rooms fit for 4-16 people in Teesside’s first dedicated multi-room private karaoke space.
The karaoke rooms have been decked out with stylish wood panelling, plush leather, and red lighting to make it “one of the most Instagrammable nights out in town”.
It’s even got special LED lighting nodding to some karaoke classics, including Together in Electric Dreams by Philip Oakey and Giorgio Moroder and Style by Taylor Swift.
Each room is equipped with state-of-the-art sound systems, extensive song libraries, a disco ball, drink packages, personal bar staff and table service as part of a “premium” experience.
The rooms have been created to provide “an intimate setting, adding another fresh twist to Stockton’s nightlife scene” while complimenting the existing space at Black Market.
General Manager Michael Hollifield said: “The whole team at Black Market are looking forward to welcoming even more of our customers to the private karaoke rooms which adhere to the same high standard we always aim to deliver.

“We’ve been thrilled with the excellent feedback we’ve already received so we’re excited to welcome the rest of the bookings we already have going into 2025.
“It’s been hard to get people to leave at the end of their session with some booking again before they’ve even got out the door.”
