A pedestrian has been taken to hospital after a crash on Edinburgh Drive in Darlington.

The collision, between a car and a pedestrian, happened around 8.30am this morning (December 3) near Hummersknott Academy. 

Emergency services were on the scene and motorists saw traffic delays whilst they dealt with the incident. 

Durham Police has confirmed that the pedestrian was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital for treatment.

A spokesperson from Durham Police said: "Police were called to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian on Edinburgh Drive, in Darlington, at about 8.30am this morning.

"The pedestrian was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital for treatment."
