It is set to be a chilly and rainy day in Darlington and across the North East today as the Met Office predicts low temperatures set to feel like 1C by evening.
The start of December has brought with it low temperatures in Darlington as cloud and frequent showers continue to dominate the weather forecast today (December 2).
Today, temperatures will reach a high of 7C, but is then set to drop to a low of 4C by 11pm this evening.
Light wind is also forecast throughout the day but will only reach a high of 7mph, with the sun due to set at 3:44pm.
Following a wet start to the week, the forecaster has said that “brighter skies” will return from Wednesday to the end of the week.

The forecaster predicts: “An area of cloud and rain, with some hill snow, will move south during the morning clearing to brighter spells and showers into the afternoon.
“The showers will become largely confined to coastal districts. Breezy and feeling cold. Maximum temperature 6 °C.”
