Incredible pictures have been captured of the underwater world off Redcar coast by a North East snorkeller.
John Lampett has been diving around the Redcar coast for the last 15 years and now he has taken to exploring with a snorkel.
The Scar was his location for a mid-November dive to see what the marine life was doing ahead of a cold winter.
He explained how snorkelling was an easy way to explore the local underwater world that anyone could try.
Mr Lampett said: "I have been diving around Redcar for about 15 years, but in recent years I have been exploring the area by snorkel.
"The Scars and other spots in the area can be beautiful and stunning underwater in the right conditions and you see some great animal behaviour.
"Crabs mating and fighting, shoals of sprats in the shallows, Lumpsuckers guarding eggs.
"Snorkelling is a good and easy way to explore our local marine environment but as with everything in the UK seas, its good to get a little knowledge and some skills first, that will give you confidence and will make the experience more enjoyable.
"I have recently started the Cleveland Divers Snorkel Group and was overwhelmed with the response.
"I am currently training 17 new snorkellers over the winter and we hope to start explore the marine environment in the summer.

"Being confident and comfortable in the water with your fins, mask and snorkel is important, you don't have to dive deep or have long breath holds to see wonderful things.
"None of the photos were taken holding my breath, just knowledge of conditions and confidence in my kit."
