A teenager was arrested after armed police “surrounded and stormed” a bus in County Durham over reports of a man carrying a weapon.
Officers were called to the bus - which was travelling on the A167 in Durham towards Croxdale - on Thursday (November 28) evening after reports surfaced of a man believed to be carrying a gun.
Armed officers travelled to the area - with eyewitnesses reporting seeing gun-toting cops surrounding the bus in seconds after jumping out of three blue-lighted police vehicles.
The dramatic scenes took place as the bus travelled south from the Cock o' the North Roundabout in the direction of The Honest Lawyer Hotel, just before 5pm.
After boarding the bus, officers then detained the suspect, who was believed to be carrying an imitation firearm.

Durham Constabulary confirmed today (November 29) that they arrested a 19-year-old man.
The force said he was then taken to hospital after complaining of feeling unwell.
The teenager was later released from custody after enquiries revealed the item was in fact a lighter designed in the shape of a gun - and was given advice.
