A well known hardware store has unveiled its annual Christmas window display and has been dubbed 'The Fenwicks of County Durham'.
It's the most wonderful time of the year at R. Defty on North Terrace in Crook who last week finally revealed their three-storey Christmas window display.
For the last 6 years, the team have transformed their windows to feature, trees, snowmen, deer, penguins and more to create the most wonderful Christmas scene.
Store owner Robert Defty, 44, told The Northern Echo that empty space brought inspiration and it all snowballed from there.
He said: "We did just have a large amount of empty space upstairs. One year, I said to my sister, that we should use it to make a display.
"We wanted to make it nice and bright and we've just kept doing it since then."
Now, every year, the team try and add a new twist to their display "so it's not just the same every year" - with this year featuring a line of glowing trees and lights of every colour around the panes.
Robert added: "We get people coming into the store saying how nice it looks. It's nice to be able to do something like this as we are one of the only shops with a front that can do it.
"You can even see our window from over at the marketplace. It's something we like to do now and since we've done it for a few years we want to keep it going."

After posting their display on Facebook, the team garnered hundreds of likes and comments with many dubbing it as County Durham's answer to Fenwicks.
Locals have also described the window as "fabulous", stating it was "well worth a visit".
As for next year, Robert confirmed that the display will be back as always.
